Hello From the Free State of Substack!
I'm Virgil, Your Guide Through Hell - Follow Me, You'll be Safe
Have you noticed?
Have you noticed that there seems to be a lack of gay people in the LGBT movement these days? There are plenty of other members of the ever expanding acronym of wokeness around, but no good old fashioned homosexuals. I mean you can’t swing a dead “catself” without hitting a polyamorous nonbinary BIPOC bisexual who is all too happy to claim they represent gays, even though she(?) never seems to actually sleep with a member of the same sex. I guess we old schoolers are passé now. It’s really too bad. We used to be fun.
As people like Libs of TikTok point out, weirdos and new school “trans” people are all over the place, waving new bastardizations of the rainbow flag, and talking about how they speak for LGBTs. The problem is that those folks, as eccentric as they may be, are not gay by any definition that I am aware of, and they do not represent gays or gay rights.
From what I can tell, they represent narcissistic personality disorder, Munchausen’s by proxy, a dash of schizophrenia, and too many very special talks with overbearing mothers telling them they can “be anything they want”.
You do know who I’m talking about when I say “gays”, right? I’m talking about the nice ladies with the cluttered porch who live in your neighborhood… they have a Subaru in the driveway and several dogs. They are the two nice gents with the immaculate yard who are always jogging together. It’s Cam’s husband from Modern Family or Ellen DeGeneres. You know… gay people. Where the hell have they all gone, and why have they all been replaced with the world’s most annoying fat-girl friend of the dude I’m trying take home from the bar? (Seriously Grace… Ima need you to clip clop your big ass anywhere but here.)
In this article and hopefully in articles ahead, I’ll attempt to answer some of those questions while we take an unflinching look at the LGBTQIA+ movement and talk about how it has gone off the rails. More than any of that, I plan to talk plainly about the fact that this insanity has now been foisted upon children, and how that is more than unethical, it’s evil. It’s time for gays to speak up. If we don’t, we are complicit… and we cannot be a party to hurting children.
So with all that said, I am Virgil and welcome to this contribution to Gays Against Groomers on Substack! Like, share, and comment.
What is a “groomer” and why are gays against them?
In the not so distant past, a “groomer” was someone who inserted themselves into another’s life with nefarious intent. They gained trust through manipulation until they were able to talk the victim into doing something they didn’t want to do. It wasn’t necessarily sexual and didn’t necessarily involve kids. A con artist could groom a grandmother into writing him into her will, or a manipulative woman could use grooming techniques to make a man she had no genuine affection for buy expensive jewelry.
It entered the American lexicon referring to child predators back during the old Chris Hansen series, To Catch A Predator, on Dateline NBC. For those not familiar, in this series an investigative journalist partnered with an online watchdog group and eventually a local police department to set up stings where they busted adult men trying to meet up with young teenagers for sex.
The show was groundbreaking and had a massive effect on how parents began to look at the internet and interactions their minor children were having online. In 2004, when the show first aired, the internet was still relatively new and it wasn’t odd at all for a 14 year old to know how to navigate it better than his or her parents.
The folks at Dateline were experts at showing exactly how creeps would entice kids into meeting through a process of grooming. The vast majority of the predators they busted were looking for opposite sex encounters, but some were looking for same sex liaisons as well. I intentionally don’t use the words “gay” and “straight” here because I refuse to categorize a grown man who is attracted to a 13 year old as either gay or straight. They are something else entirely… which is one reason why it’s so insidious that Twitter has seemingly included them in the LGBT pantheon. They are decidedly not like us, and they are decidedly not welcome.
Fast forward some years to the modern day and now “groomer” has taken on a new meaning. I think it was Andrew Klavan, or maybe it was Andrew Sullivan who coined the term in its modern usage. They’ve both claimed it, but whatever.
A “groomer”, in its modern parlance, is someone who uses grooming techniques (inserting themselves into children’s lives for the purposes of manipulation), to indoctrinate young people into the modern Marxist philosophy of gender ideology. And gays need to stand against it.
Okay Virgil… we were with you until…
I get it, for many gay people, the moment someone says “Marxist” or “gender ideology” they just tune the speaker out. They assume it’s just another right wing Ben Shapiro acolyte blithering about whatever he said on his last podcast. But you shouldn’t tune this out. There is a problem in our community and we need to address it.
I don’t claim to know where all of this insanity comes from. In future articles we will hopefully discuss the connection between Chinese owned TikTok and society destroying messages being promoted on the platform. We can get into why Twitter is constantly attacking those who are denouncing people trying to harm children. I am looking forward exploring how elite academia has been pushing critical theory for decades… and how, like a lab leak, it spilled into society and spread, unchecked. Perhaps, if we are really lucky, this community can be part of the cure.
The first step to solving any issue is admitting there is a problem. Right now, as I type this, there are thousands of girls around the country calling themselves “trans” when there is no evidence that they are anything other than normal pubescent girls. Right now there are an untold number of boys on puberty blockers, because they believe they are “trans” when it’s very likely they are just fabulous young gay kids. The consequences of this medical experimentation on children is only now beginning to be seen as the early victims of this ideology age out and discover what a horrible mistake was made… or what a horrible crime was committed against them.
The very idea that someone would try and talk a developing young person into life altering drugs, and eventually surgery, because they are “uncomfortable” in their own skin or “feel like they are in the wrong body” is indescribable for me. I don’t think even Dr. Mengele could have come up with something so depraved.
Yet it’s being done, and worse yet… it’s being done in the name of LGBT rights. Well, not in this gay guy’s name. Here, we will reject it.
The Insidious Libel
So now that you know where I’m coming from, let’s talk about the pink elephant in the room. The insidious libel that has been used to demonize gays, specifically gay men, forever… the accusation that we are predisposed to be attracted to young boys.
I hope to go into this in more detail in future articles if people are interested, but this horrible lie comes from a lot of places, and like most stereotypes, it begins with a tiny glimmer of truth. Whether it was the Greeks and Romans of antiquity or the Castro in the 70’s, runaway gay kids have, at times, found themselves going to communities of older gay men for acceptance, shelter, and a chance to live. That happened.
Perhaps the greatest result of the wide societal acceptance of homosexuality is that this practice has virtually ended. It didn’t end because all those relationships were sexual or predatory (they weren’t always), but because in most places in America, a gay child is now allowed to grow up and be himself or herself and find support in family and community right at home.
They don’t need to runaway at 15 years old and find themselves in situations they don’t have the tools to handle. They don’t need to be ashamed of who they are, or of how God made them. That progress is a wonderful thing, and it’s being put at risk by radical, blue haired, groomers who are so self absorbed in their own insane ideology that they would hurt children to justify their own perversions.
I am very proud to be a small voice speaking sane words. Children need to be protected from a sick world. I am happy to stand on that line, with my bayonet fixed, and my rifle pointed outward… in defense of something so noble as the innocence of a child.
See you soon!

P.S. One quick note for any detractors… I was gay before it was cool in a place that didn’t like us. I spent far too long hating myself and hating God for creating me. I’ll never be what you think I should be… so get comfortable with that or get gone. I won’t use the words you want me to use. I am not afraid of you.

Cool Substack! Got notified that you're here bc I follow you on Twitter. Welcome, it's great!
Virgil,
I'm Gary and a retired engineer. I don't think I have read something so well written about the current state of things as what you wrote. It makes me feel that America still may have a great future if there are folks as talented as yourself able to explain the story. It just makes me wonder even more why folks of all backgrounds are not able to see it, but I guess like with most things, you just have to keep on going. Thank you for the guide, and you are my Captain...:-)
